Since joining the airline industry in 1997, Oliver Otto Meier has been a pivotal player in various capacities and management roles for pre-eminent airlines such as the former Swissair Group, Swiss International Air Lines, Gulf Air, Emirates Airline and other international airlines and business aviation operators.
His experience over the years has covered various aspects of airline operations, aircraft engineering, logistics and airline strategic management. Moreover, Oliver Meier is an experienced Captain on Airbus A320, A330, A340 aircraft and has accumulated approximately 9000 flying hours.
Recently Mr Meier was instrumental in expanding the aviation and aerospace practice of a reputable management consulting firm. In that role he has restructured the operations department of an established low-cost airline and has helped several operators to improve their operational integrity, organisational effectiveness and profitability. Furthermore, he advises airline supervisory boards, senior government officials, sovereign wealth funds and a head of state on matters of airline strategy and air transport policy.
Besides consulting and interim management engagements one of his priorities today are aerospace and aviation related investment opportunities, joint ventures and M&A.
Capt. Meier holds a Master of Science degree in Air Transport Management from City University London and has completed the highly selective Executive Leadership Development Programme with the Emirates Airline Group in Dubai.
